AR app City in Time extends to five more locations in Tai Hang

The Tourism Commission expanded the City in Time tourism project — an augmented reality (AR) mobile app — to five new locations in Tai Hang.

The app allows users to access the digitalized history and panoramic scenery of Hong Kong’s past and present.

The five new locations in Tai Hang present in the app include the Fire Dragon Path, Tung Lo Wan Road, Lin Fa Kung Street West, Wun Sha Street, and the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre.

Existing locations in the app include Central, The Peak, Tsim Sha Tsui, Sham Shui Po, Yau Ma Tei, Jordan, and Lei Yue Mun.

City in Time is the world’s first large-scale deployment of AR in the urban environment. Users can scan the “AR clocks” available at designated locations with the mobile app and experience 360-degree panoramas that show a side-by-side comparison of the city’s past and present.

The mobile app is free to download.
